Five stages, each one yours to stop at.
An enquiry commits you to nothing. You can ask a question, hear the figure and leave it there. Nothing below starts until you say so.
You ask
Usually this is a reply to a short note from Fiona that names the address and why it might suit you. It can also be the form on the contact page, or a call to the office. Tell us the name and, if you like, what you would use it for. There is no need to explain your plans or your budget.
The figure, in writing
Within one working day you receive one number for the name and a plain account of what it covers: the name itself, the handover to your registrar, and our share of the escrow fee if we have agreed to split it. We do not send ranges and we do not open with a high number to leave room.
Your decision
Three answers are all fine. Yes moves us to the next stage. A question gets a straight answer. Not now closes the thread; we will not keep writing, and if you come back in a year the conversation starts again from where you left it.
Agreement and escrow
A short agreement sets down the address, the figure, which escrow company is used and how its fee is divided. You then place the funds with the escrow company, which confirms receipt to both sides. At no point do you pay us directly.
The name is yours
We move the name into the registrar account you choose. Once you can see it there and manage its settings, you tell the escrow company, and it releases the funds. Most handovers finish within a week of the agreement; the pace is usually set by the escrow checks, not by us.

Follow-up pressure
A first note, perhaps one brief reminder, and then quiet. Deadlines are never invented to hurry you.
Other buyers as leverage
If another firm asks about the same name, you will not hear about it from us as a reason to decide faster.
Talk about you
Your interest in a name is not mentioned to anyone else, and your company is never named as a buyer.
